Dave Jones

Dave Jones was raised in Colusa and attended local schools before going to the University of California at Davis (UCD) to study agriculture. After finishing his B.S. degree in Agricultural Science and Management, he worked at the UCD rice research project from 1972 – 1979. He obtained his M.S. degree in Agronomy and Ph.D. degree in Plant Physiology from UCD.

Before coming to Farmers’ Rice Cooperative, Dave spent two years with the University of Maryland as the state extension specialist for corn, soybean, and small grains, and 14 years with the University of Florida where he was a Professor of Agronomy with research and extension responsibilities involving most aspects of Florida rice production.
